Melamine presents alkalescence, can react with various acidums to
generate melamine salt. In strong acid or strong alkali liquor,
melamine will hydrolyze---amido group will be slowly replaced by
hydroxyl, thus generate ammeline, Cyanuric Acid and Ammelide. It
can react with aldehydes to produce addition compounds. Among them,
the reaction of melamine and formalin is the most important part.
The application state of melamine :
Melamine is a semi-finished product in organic chemical industry
with even structure and vast applications; it is mainly used as the
material to produce melamine formaldehyde (MF) colophony. Owning
the abilities of fire-resistant, water-resistant, hot-resistant,
age-preventing, electric arc resistant, bearing chemical
corruption, perfect insulation capability, gloss grade, and
machinery intention, and good thermal-setting capacity, it is
widely used in wood, plastic, dope, paper-making, textile industry,
leather, electric, and medicine, etc.
